Fireside Chat: The Law is King
Evil that arises out of ordinary thinking and is committed by ordinary people is the norm, not the exception. - Ervin Staub
In the third chapter of the first Epistle from Saint Paul to Saint John, it is written:
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
God's law, the king on Earth, is not just a set of rules but the foundation of the Western World and Western Law. It has taught the world the value of mercy, humility, and loving the sinner despite their transgressions. This law, which has harnessed the power of human hearts, has greatly benefited the world. The Jews were given this law, and Christ fulfilled it. Being consubstantial with the Father, Christ sanctified and redeemed the world through his passion. Our salvation is manifested as long as we love him and keep his commandments. In the fourteenth chapter of the Gospel of Saint John, it is written:
I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
Any individual, group, or society that denies this truth that Christ is the fulfillment of the law finds themselves unable to keep the law. Such a person attempting to do so is like a wanderer in the world with one eye open. This is not just a misguided endeavor, it is malum in se; a fundamental wrong. In his limited understanding, man cannot assume the role of the psychopomp of the soul, for that is not his domain! He must, with humility and reverence, submit to the king whose law reigns supreme above all.
