Fireside Chat: Being Remembered
Cervantes once said that “every man is the son of his actions.” When our lives are at their end, we will be judged by what has been the primary source of our daily activities. Whether it be reading, worship, or watching Netflix on our days off, what we do in this life is what makes a summary of our existence. When we witness just how much of life is wasted on things that don’t matter, it brings our imminent death into perspective. Will we die being remembered as a loving father or a blatant drunk? Will we build a home for our families, be a forever tenant, or will we be a business owner, granting the income necessary for others to make their own homes? Will we write a history filled with adventure, or will we leave this world with only a headstone to remind the world we were here? He who longs for death proclaims that life is meaningless. This proclamation is made by men who are doomed never to write their verse on the pages of history. By deciding to direct your course through life, the world will remember you when you die.
